Holiday Party's

Into the wee hours of the night.....a couple nights ago.........
it dawned on me that we have our first holiday party of the season this weekend to attend.
This will be fun........I'm sure the home we are going to will be all decked out in everything Christmas.....Christmas tunes playing and great food to be had.
I always like to take a hostess gift when we go to a friends home......it's fun to take a little gift this time of year.
I don't do the typical..........the bottle of wine.....or a candle ....or other standard types of things.
I like to create something special to give.
Two years ago I made aprons for hostess gifts.....last year I made ornaments using antique scraps and tinsel from my hoarded stash.
Soooooooo.......what to do this holiday season????
I'm making cupcakes! Yep, yummy holiday cupcakes.
Of course these tasty little morsels are created in my studio...........no oven needed. Snowmen cupcakes..........cupcakes with little brush trees..........you know where I'm going with this. The snowman heads are actually vintage spun cotton cupcake picks! How cool is this.
These can be used as pin keepers or just a cute little something to set around the home.
I'm making myself several and will use them as place cards on my dining table.
Below is the first one...........I will gift them in a vintage champagne glass.
I better scoot now and get back to work.

Kringle all the way....

I'm pleased today to introduce you to "Kringle".
Kringle just left the studio today and is headed East. He's on his way to Collins Gifts........ where he will be on display this weekend at the Festival of Trees, in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

Kringle is a big ol' bear, 29" tall! And looks grand all decked out for the holiday season.
His sweet face, with a center seam, is framed by a long stocking cap. He's cozy and comfy warm wearing an antique one piece union suit..........with a drop seat! He thinks this is real silly.

Ready to celebrate the holidays..........Kringle carries a vintage sock filled with vintage goodies and also holds a vintage chenille wreath trimmed with vintage ornaments and holly leaves.

For more adoption information about Kringle...........please contact Wendy at Collins Gifts.

Kringle isn't mooning you.............he just wanted to show off the silly drop seat!

WOWZA.....

....where did the week go?!?
I hope all of you have had a great week.........
I took a few days off for a little play time with Mr. Steiner and while we were away...........a mouse moved in! So, the mister set a couple traps......cause we know the little buggers never come alone and I think I can safely say there are no more mouses in the house. Only the cute little mouses I make to fill the Christmas stockings that is.
I've been playing in the studio the past couple of days............stockings are being filled with bits and baubles.... bells are jingling......sparkles and shimmering snow are layered over every surface.......it's in my hair............it's everywhere.
I'm working away on winter holiday and Christmas pieces.............pretty lady bears dressed in vintage white clothing..........little bears peeking from mittens and socks.........big grand bears and beasties wearing vintage long johns and winter wooly's. Lovely dollies are in the studio too. They seem to be grabbing all the pretty wintery whites and making themselves at home in old doll trunks, suitcases, baskets and mache boots.
Below are a few pics of holiday pieces that went to Collins Gifts.
I'll have more pics to share soon...........

Thanks for spending a little time with me...........

Halloween is over and...........

November brings another fun holiday to the studio.
I've tidied up the studio and packed away all things orange till next year.
I'm on to the next holiday now and have started to haul out bins and bins of wintry delights and Christmas finery.
The studio is over flowing with bits and pieces....... shiny baubles......brush trees and glimmering tinsel. Stacks of woolly scarves and piles of mittens have taken over. I'm so loving the palette of wintry whites, golds and silvers with bits of blue.
The first of the Christmas magic has now left the studio.........I'll give you a peek at these pieces in the next day or two.

Hello November..........

"November comes And November goes,
With the last red berries And the first white snows.
With night coming early, And dawn coming late,
And ice in the bucket, And frost by the gate.
The fires burn, And the kettles sing,
And earth sinks to rest Until next spring."
